After a long, satisfying day of sailing and motoring, I finally dropped anchor at Lickershamn, a small, peaceful harbor nestled on the shores of Gotland Island. The sea has been calm, and the winds were steady, making it an easy, yet rewarding, journey. There’s something about the quiet after a day of navigating the open water—peaceful, yet full of promise for tomorrow’s adventures.
Unfortunately, no warm shower for me today. It seems the water’s a bit too cold for that luxury, but tomorrow’s a new day, and I’m already planning my next move. The small kiosk store, Putter pa Lickers, opens at 11 AM, and I’ve got my eye on that, hoping to grab some essentials and maybe a treat to start the day right.
But first, a hike. There’s a lighthouse about 4 km away from the dinghy dock, and I’ve been thinking about visiting it. My plan is to set out at 7 AM, dock by 7:30, and begin the hike around 8:30. That should get me to the lighthouse by 9:30, where I’ll have an hour to enjoy a peaceful breakfast with a perfect view of the coastline. It’ll be a serene way to start the day—watching the sun rise over the sea, the lighthouse standing as a silent sentinel, and just soaking in the solitude of Gotland Island.
Right now, the temperature is a comfortable 15°C, and the sky is perfectly clear, offering an endless view of the horizon. It’s the kind of evening that begs for a cup of tea and a bit of relaxation. As I sit here, looking out at the shores of Gotland, I can’t help but feel grateful for the moment—just me, the boat, and the soothing sounds of the waves gently lapping against the hull.
Tomorrow promises more adventure, but tonight, I’ll let the quiet of this beautiful place settle in. There’s nothing quite like the peaceful stillness of an anchorage on a clear evening, and I intend to enjoy it fully.
